But the funny part of this post is her ridiculous poopy behavior. A couple of
weeks ago Taylee was at Mimi's Cafe with her grandma and grandpa. Nana and Poppie arrived to pick her up, and it seemed nature was calling. The whole family got stuck in the lobby at Mimi's for 20 minutes while Taylee completed her business. Even better, she insisted on standing in the middle of the doorway, and stiff-armed anyone who approached. Umm, awkward?! She caught on to the fact that we found this amusing, and has been telling me "Poopy at Mimi's" ever since.
Sadly, we had a repeat event over the weekend. We were dining at Red Robin on Saturday night, and it seemed the poop monster was back for another visit. Because we were still at our table, Taylee made it her business to do her business in the middle of the aisle. No amount of coercion on our part would convince her to abandon her position. Despite our embarassment, it was pretty comical watching fellow customers, servers, and busboys making their way around Taylee while she pooped in the aisle. this is hilarious I'm sure she'll potty train soon! My little bro did the same thing, he'd always go to a corner and when asked what he was doing he'd respond "i'm workin on it!" hahaha.
ReplyDeleteTry getting her a few books, puzzles, toys that are only for the bathroom. It encourages them to sit for longer than 30 seconds. Also, I am not ashamed to bribe my kids. I typically get m&m's and give them one for sitting there. Once they have gotten good at sitting there, then they actually have to do something to get one. Stickers sometimes work also. With Carson, I went to the dollar store and bought like $10 worth of stuff and put up high. once he had gone I let him choose and then slowly cut back on giving him prizes. He was my hardest to potty train. Tucker, we bought a train whistle that we kept in the bathroom. Every time he went, he got to blow the whistle. He was my easiest. Also, I hate to tell you but putting them in underwear is the best way. I have tried diapers and pull ups to no avail. They need to feel what it is like to have an accident. Diapers pull the moisture away and makes it not too bad to be wet. I wait until we have had a few successes in the toilet before putting them in underwear. Good luck! I think this has been my least favorite part of parenting!
ReplyDeleteOh, the dreaded poop training. I have had it with Anna. She is fully potty trained when it comes to peeing, but she refuses to poop on the potty. She will do the same thing...hide or ask me for a pull up. Seriously. I hope you are more successful with Taylee! Good luck.
