Tea Party at the Zoo

I know, sounds crazy huh? Yes, we did indeed attend a "Tea Party at the Zoo!" This particular event was a big part of nana's motivation in purchasing a zoo membership for our family. It is a member's only event, and one that she didn't want Taylee to miss! Indeed, Taylee did love the tea party.

When we arrived, Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter were there to greet us. Taylee and Alice curtsied to one another. Cutest thing I have ever seen. Because Taylee doesn't like "boys," we took a photo with only Alice.

Taylee, twitterpated by Alice

We headed quickly for the craft table, where the little "princesses" were able to make a cute little windmill to take home.
Taylee, hard at work!

Alice taught the girls how to hula hoop (or tried to anyways...), and the mad hatter did magic tricks. Way fun!

Then the girls got to meet a couple of the zoo's smaller residents. Like this adorable bunny!

After the tea party, Taylee ditched her tiara and we went to check out some animals!

Here she is, strangling a bronze muskrat!

And, of course, we can't leave the zoo without an ice cream cone!!
What a fun and silly day. Taylee had a great time, and of course, that means that we did too! Thanks for the great idea Nana!

Fathers Day

I am blessed to share Father's Day with some amazing men. First, I am married to one heck of a good dad. He may be a little tougher than me, but he keeps our little girl in line, and he is always kind and loving along with his "tough daddy" side.  Taylee may be a mama's girl, but she LOVES her daddy.
I, too, was blessed to grow up with an amazing father, who was always supportive, kind, and loving, yet just strict enough to keep me in line. He is funny, outgoing, gregarious, and super-smart. He is everybody's friend, and an amazing businessman.  He may read this and send me a critique of my writing and grammar, but that's okay, we love him for it. Wink, wink dad!
And, of course, we can't forget my father in law Terry. I couldn't ask for a more kind, loving, and gentle man for my "FIL." Even if he does have a nasty habit of teasing me!
Golf balls, Dexter Season 6, and a little bedhead?! Can you say Spoiled?!!

Silly Willies

So proud. Skyler picked out and bought his dad's fathers day gift all by himself. Guess that's what happens once you have a job and a car, huh?!

My favorite peeps in the whole world!

Intro to Swimming!

The goal this summer is to get Taylee acclimated and comfortable in the water. Swimming lessons start in July! We decided to start with a quick spin to the local Aquatic Center. She started off slowly, but was frolicking like a fish by the time we were through! That's my girl!
"I don't hear you MOM!"

"Okay, now I am ready for some fun!"

Post Twirly Slide!

My loves, loving the water!
We are hoping to get to the pool this weekend, for a little more "practice." Wish us luck!!

Girls of Summer!

Summer has arrived. We dragged out Taylee's pool and the girls had a blast on Friday. I'm pretty sure this is going to be a daily affair from now til September. We sure do love summer!!

Sunbathing!

Taylee's cousin and friend, Brooklynn

Taylee's bestie, Kate. Not sure what to think of my camera in her face!

Kate, Brooklynn, and Taylee. Love these girls!

iPhone Photo Blog

Thank goodness for phones with built in cameras. I find so many random opportunities to take photos and I don't have my camera handy. My phone works great for just this purpose.  I just wish it took better quality photos. It is just a 3G after all. Only 4 models behind current technology. Maybe someday I will get to upgrade.... Once T-Mobile releases me from their evil clutches! Anyways, enjoy my poor quality random photos!

My beautiful girl. We are trying out straightening her hair. Sadly I think she is losing her curl. It looks like a bad perm. Straight on top, curly on the bottom. It took me a long time to get the hang of styling curly hair, and now that I know how, I have to learn how to style her hair straight! Oy! And I feel a little guilty using a flat-iron on my three year old.  Also, as a side note, a friend saw this photo and asked if Taylee did her own bangs. Nope. Her hair just grows that way. Weird.

Yep. That just about sums it up. Taylee LOVES sugar just as much as her mommy does. She's gone gaga for cupcakes!

Kenzie teaching Taylee to shoot her nerf gun. And yes, Kenzie insisted Taylee wear the "safety glasses." Cute!

Kenzie showing off her prowess with the nerf gun. I have a feeling Taylee might be getting one of these from Kenzie for her birthday!

Taylee posing with the cute bronze bicycle boy up on 25th street in Ogden. Cute as can be!

Taylee and her little bestie Kate. They are inseparable these days. True to form Taylee has found something she loves (Kate!), and she is absolutely obsessed. All day long I hear "I want to play with Kate!!" or sometimes Daphne, or Keiaura, or Brooklyn. But mostly Kate. Luckily Kate is right across the street!  And see that little pink puppy on the floor? His name (yes, they call it a him) is Sparkle. The girls LOVE Sparkle. I have to break up a fight over Sparkle pretty much every day. Silly girls!

A little breakfast date at Jeremiah's. Yummy!!

My other favorite breakfast date!

Taylee wanted to be part of this mannequin family at Old Navy. She spent 10 minutes naming everybody and wanted her photo taken with them all. Goofy girl!
In other news, I am proud to announce that for ONE week Taylee has been sleeping in!!! I have been waiting to post this for YEARS! Obviously, this may not last, but I am so thrilled to have her sleeping til 8 or sometimes even 8:30, I cannot help but post it!! I have no explanation for why she has suddenly started sleeping late, but I love it!! Fingers crossed!
Coming up this summer: Swimming Lessons, Dance recital, a zoo tea party, Birthday celebrations, Water World, Broncos Training camp, and more!  I can only imagine what else we can fit in!
