We didn't Win!

So, we went back to Denver this weekend for ANOTHER Broncos game. Sadly, we were a little less lucky this time. Fortunately, although we lost, the game was a blast! The Broncos took a bit of a whooping in the first half, and were slow to recover in the 3rd quarter. But the fourth quarter was a doozy! Too bad they couldn't quite pull it out! We even got a few cheering and dancing opportunities towards the end with our super fun fellow season ticket holder Andy. Who I will never see again. Darn! She was a blast for the last two games! Next week, I guess Aunt Ginger will have to hold up our reputation in section 503. Kent and I are done for the year, but Skyler is headed over with my mom and dad in October, so we will be well represented. This year's games were so much fun, we are considering going THREE times next year! Yikes! If we can afford it, that is!

Haha! I saw these fab Broncos tutus and fairy wings from the back, and ran over for a photo-op before I realized they were selling OTC meds and representing Heartburn and Headache! Doh!

Free Face Painting in the Stadium? Yes, please!

Pre-game warm-ups.

Our fabulous travelling companions, Scott and Renae. Too bad we couldn't give them a "better" experience. As in, a win!

WE Win!!

Last weekend brought our annual trip to Denver for the Broncos game. This year Kent and I and Mark and Amber were joined by our friends Darren and Clare. They added a whole new dimension of fun to an already fabulous trip. We are so glad they could join us!
The game was a Sunday night game, so we had ALL day to pub crawl and get pumped for the game.  This worked out really well for most of us, but not so great for Darren and Clare, who were roasted, toasted and done by game time. I guess the excitement of the game was a little less intense for the two non-Bronco fans, and they ditched us in the second quarter. Guess that's what happens when you have the beer sampler in front of you at 11 am, followed by the Bloody Mary bar, followed by beer, beer, and more beer. Since I'm a lightweight, I refrained from the festivities til game time. Smart move, if I do say so myself!

Amber (aka The Savage) and the lovely Clare

Welcome to the Bloody Mary bar. Clare was devising quite the cocktail for herself. Complete with cucumber slices, horseradish, a pickle, and a jalapeno! And yes, she actually drank it! And another after that!

As Clare would say "skinny arm!"

Darren, cringing in his orange shirt, that we MADE him wear. :0)

Celebration time!!!

The best part about our trip?! The Broncos won!! First win we have seen firsthand in a four game stretch, spanning 3 years. Hallelujah!

"Look How Big I'm Am!"

Yes, indeed, Taylee is a school girl! As she likes to say "look how big I'm am!"
Here she is, a couple weeks ago, getting ready for the "Back to School" Party.
Otherwise known as the "First time to School" Party.

Here she is, all ready to go to school!

She became a bit more timid outside the comfort of our home.

The smiles were all gone by this time. Even with her bestest buddy Treyzon.
Although Taylee was timid and shy to begin with, by the time I picked her up two hours later, she was all smiles and in LOVE with Miss Amanda. "Miss Amanda says her wants me to come back tomorrow!" Mommy definitely agrees! Yay for preschool!

No pool for you!

As summer was coming to a close, Jennika and I decided to take our kids for one last hurrah at the local pool. Or not. Apparently we failed to realize that once the big kids go back to school, the local pools close down on weekdays. Boo. It was a beautiful, 90 degree August day. What were they thinking?! We started at "the pool with the frog slide." Closed. We tried to head for the pool "on base." Closed. (Taylee was relieved the pool "on base" was closed. She thought it was a pool "in space." Eeeek!) After chasing our tails for 45 minutes, we finally decided to head to the newly opened splash pad a couple of towns over. We weren't sure this would be a hit with Taylee, because she doesn't like to be splashed. Hmmm. By definition, a splash pad involves splashing. Once we arrived she was pretty timid. I had to help get her acclimated, which meant I had to get wet. No problem! Except I was the only mommy frolicking in the splash pad in my bikini. I was dressed for the pool, people! Unfortunately, the other mommies were NOT dressed for the pool. No one was even wearing a swimsuit. Oy! Well, fortunately, with a little time and a little help from Daphne, Taylee eventually warmed up, and she LOVED the splash pad. Who knew?!

To Nap or Not to Nap?

Taylee has been trying to grow out of naps for a while now. I'm not havin' it. Mostly cuz she usually ends up in meltdown mode by evening. But, today got a little rough, and napping wasn't in the cards. I wasn't too surprised when I found her this way at dinner.
She was actually sitting up on the barstools with Kent and I, but asked to move to the highchair. Shoulda known what we were headed for, eh?! Silly girl. She's so peaceful when she's asleep. Sadly, NOT so peaceful when she wakes up.
